From the 1936 CCC report*:
The recreation hall is a beautiful place, with a canteen at one end, a library and reading room of a spacious size at the other, and a huge fireplace between with all the accessories that go to make a living room livable and home-like. The canteen and library reading room are done in Spanish style, which lends charm to the entire plan.
This rec hall was featured in Happy Days, the national CCC newspaper, with a photo of the Spanish-style canteen.
